We are a high-performing NDIS neuro-diverse employment provider and we are applying this expertise in IEA, for young people with autism.
Our approach is hands-on and collaborative. We don’t just offer services from a distance—we work alongside each individual, helping them identify their strengths and the supports they need to succeed.

How Southern Community Options Supports Young People with Autism
Employment can be a major challenge for young people with autism due to social, sensory, or communication differences. We understand these challenges and provide tailored support to overcome them.
Personalised Strengths-Based Approach
Instead of focusing on limitations, we start by identifying what each person does well. This might include skills like attention to detail, reliability, or specific technical abilities. By focusing on strengths, we help young people find roles where they can thrive.
Side-by-Side Support
Rather than just giving advice, our employment mentors work alongside participants. This might mean accompanying them to job interviews, helping with workplace adjustments, or providing on-the-job coaching. This hands-on support builds confidence and helps young people adapt to new environments.
Building Realistic Employment Pathways
We don’t promise quick fixes or unrealistic outcomes. Instead, we create step-by-step plans that lead to achievable employment goals. This might include training, volunteering, or part-time work that gradually builds skills and experience.

Examples of Success Stories
Southern Community Options has helped many young people find work. For example, one participant with a strong interest in horticulture was supported to gain part-time work in a local nursery. The team helped with interview preparation and workplace adjustments, leading to a job that matched their passion and skills.
Another young person interested in hospitality received coaching on social skills and workplace routines. With ongoing support, they continue to grow their confidence and independence.
These stories show how tailored support and local knowledge combine to create real opportunities.
